Vice Unification Minister Rhee Bong-jo says the inter-Korean talks and the six way talks will lend a synergetic effect to each other if they proceed simultaneously.

The official said in an interview with a local radio station that the return of ideal conditions for the resumption of the six party talks is important for the sake of inter-Korean relations.

Noting that the North Korean nuclear issue has been a major obstacle to improving relations between the two Koreas, Lee said it will help advance the inter-Korean talks if the issue is finally resolved through the six way talks.

He also said that conversely, any progress in inter-Korean talks will contribute to producing results during the multilateral talks.
