North Korea is allowing foreign buyers to visit the Gaesong industrial complex.

Vice Unification Minister Rhee Bong-jo on Friday told a regular news briefing that Pyongyang notified Seoul of the decision Tuesday.

Firms operating in the complex had pressed the North to allow foreign buyers into the North's border city to boost exports.

Accordingly, South Korean kitchenware maker Living Art will arrange a visit by German buyers to Gaesong early next month.
