A nine-member delegation from Seoul that held discussions on preparations for a joint inter-Korean event in North Korea will return home Tuesday via Beijing.
The group represents the South's preparatory committee for the joint event commemorating the fifth anniversary of the landmark inter-Korean summit in June 2000
The delegation arrived in the communist state on Saturday and held extensive talks on detailed plans for the event and Pyongyang’s call on Seoul to reduce the size of its delegation to the joint celebrations.
No details on the inter-Korean discussions were provided.
Ahead of departing for Pyongyang last week, the delegation said it will urge the North to respect their earlier agreement on the joint June 15th celebrations.
The group also said it would hint to the North at reducing the size of the government delegation if the North agrees to keep that of the civic group's.
Last Wednesday, Pyongyang abruptly demanded that Seoul scale back the number of delegates to one hundred-90 from more than six hundred, and that of government delegates to 30 from 70.
