ABC Begins Reporting in P'yang

US network ABC on Tuesday aired its first report in Pyongyang in the wake of North Korea's expected return to the six-way nuclear talks.

Topping the 6:30 evening news was a Pyongyang report by ABC reporter Bob Woodruff, head of the network's delegation to the North's capital.

Woodruff described an aerial view of farming villages, saying cars are rarely seen on roads and that portraits of the late leader Kim Il-sung are ubiquitous in Pyongyang.

The North has yet to respond to ABC's alleged request for an exclusive interview with current leader Kim Jong-il.

The satellite-based broadcasts will air through Sunday.
