North Korea ranks 29th worldwide in exports of major conventional weapons, mostly through high-volume missile sales to Russia and the Middle East over the last decade.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute on Tuesday released the figures in its annual yearbook on armaments, disarmament and international security.
The yearbook said the North sold to Russia 3,250 AT-4 antitank missiles and 1,250 SA-16 portable surface-to-air missiles from 1992 to last year.
The North also exported to Syria 150 Scud-C missiles between 1991 and 1996, five Scud missiles to Libya in 1999 and 45 to Yemen between 2001 and 2002.
Russia was the world's top arms exporter with 26.9 billion dollars, followed by the United States and France. China was the largest importer, with India second and Greece third.
