The two Koreas have dedicated in Pyongyang a joint plant to produce Ringer’s solution.

Two South Korean NGOs initiated the building of the facility in June 2003 and construction was completed Thursday.

The plant will produce more than five million bottles of Ringer’s solution per year and will meet the entire demand of Pyongyang and the North's South Pyongan Province.

The South has provided production facilities, materials and technology, and will continue assist in operations.

Ringer's solution is used topically as a physiological saline and to bathe animal tissues in experiments.
