NK Cuts Off Int'l Phone Service

North Korea has cut off most of its international phone lines to prevent communication with outside world.

A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said Friday that the North has cut off most international service for private citizens and a few state lines.

Western diplomats in Pyongyang, however, said they are totally unaware of the interruption.
