Delegation to Leave Tuesday for Pyongyang

A government delegation will head to Pyongyang Tuesday to attend joint celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the inter-Korean summit.

Led by Unification Minister Chung Dong-young, the forty-member group will hold discussions with the North’s delegation to the joint event on Wednesday, followed by a meeting with the North Korean parliamentary head Kim Yong-nam on Thursday.

Seoul's delegation is to convey to the North the results of Saturday's summit talks between President Roh Moo-hyun and U.S. President George W. Bush, including Bush's suggestion that Washington will seek “more normal relations” with Pyongyang if it abandons its nuclear weapons program.
