A venture firm has launched a business to use state-of-the-art digital photograph technology to produce montages for those who want to see their families or relatives in North Korea.

The vice president of Mirae Digital Lee Song-il said his company can make montage photos of parents, sisters or brothers in North Korea if you bring pictures of any relatives who live in South Korea.

He said his company started the business to satisfy the longing and nostalgia felt by separated family members.

Lee said Mirae Digital will also provide pictures of parents and relatives in North Korea for funeral services if they are confirmed dead.

The company president said the computer simulation technology allows the company to turn out a variety of photos with varying expressions from just one decade-old black and white prints.
