North Korea has asked Seoul to provide more fertilizer aid.

The Unification Ministry said Monday the North had requested an additional 150-thousand tons of fertilizer aid in a phone call to South Korea National Red Cross President Han Wan-sang earlier on Saturday.

At last month’s inter-Korean government talks, Pyongyang originally asked for 500-thousand tons of fertilizer.

However, Seoul offered to donate 200-thousand tons initially and discuss provisions for an additional 300-thousand tons at the inter-Korean ministerial talks slated to begin Tuesday.
