Red Cross Head to Visit NK

The South Korean Red Cross president will visit North Korea this Friday to discuss the reunion of separated families.

Han Wan-sang said in a Monday news conference that his four-day agenda will include talks on arranging reunions, building a permanent reunion center and inviting Pyongyang officials to the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies slated to convene November in Seoul.

Han will invite a delegation from the North Korean Red Cross, including committee chief Jang Jae-eon, to the Seoul conference and discuss the prospective holding of joint talks on the sidelines of the event.

Han will be accompanied by four or five working officials on his trip to Pyongyang.
