The government completed Sunday the shipment of some 200,000 tons of fertilizer aid to North Korea as agreed during last month's inter-Korean talks.

The Unification Ministry on Monday said South and North Korean freighters made 22 trips along with the overland transport of 10,000 tons via the Gyeongui Highway from May 21st.

The North's Red Cross had requested the aid since January, and Seoul agreed in last month's vice ministerial talks.

Meanwhile, Pyongyang on Saturday asked for an additional 150,000 tons.
