The 15th inter-Korean ministerial talks will take place in Seoul Tuesday after a 13-month hiatus in Cabinet-level dialogue.
Unification Minister Chung Dong-young will be representing the South in the four-day talks while the North will be represented by senior Cabinet Councillor Kwon Ho-ung.
Discussions are expected to focus on drafting follow-up measures for last Friday’s meeting between Minister Chung and North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
During their talks in Pyongyang, Chung and Kim exchanged views on the North’s nuclear standoff and agreed to cooperate in resuming high-level military talks, fishery discussions, reunions of separated families and building a direct road that would connect Seoul and Pyongyang.
The North’s five-member delegation is set to arrive in the South on Tuesday afternoon.
They'll attend a dinner Tuesday night to be hosted by Seoul's chief delegate, Minister Chung, with full-fledged discussions to take place Wednesday and Thursday.
