NK Delegation Arrives in Seoul for Talks

A North Korea delegation arrived in Seoul Tuesday for the first inter-Korean ministerial talks in 13 months.

The five-member group arrived at Incheon International Airport at 3 pm on a chartered Air Koryo flight.

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young will represent the South in the four-day talks while Senior Cabinet Councilor Kwon Ho-ung will do so for the North.

Discussions, the 15th between ministers of the two sides, are expected to focus on drafting follow-up measures after Friday's meeting between Chung and North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.

During their talks in Pyongyang, Chung and Kim exchanged views on the North’s nuclear standoff and agreed to help resume high-level military talks, fishery discussions and reunions of separated families.

They will attend a dinner Tuesday night hosted by Chung, with full-fledged discussions to take place Wednesday and Thursday.
