KEDO-NK Talks Underway

South Korean officials from the Korean Energy Development Organization (KEDO) have been holding talks with their North Korean counterparts since Monday.

The Southern delegation led by KEDO Vice Secretary-General Kim Young-mok is meeting with the North's officials to discuss follow-up measures to the suspension of the group's construction of a light-water reactor in North Korea.

A KEDO official in Seoul said some 120 workers still remain on the construction site for maintenence, but that he cannot disclose the agenda of this week's talks in detail until they conclude.

He added that various measures would be discussed, including the project's resumption amid hightened prospects for a resumption of the six-way nuclear dialogue.

The high-level talks are underway in North Korea's North Pyeongan Province.
