Inter-Korean exchanges have gained rapid momentum since their resumption in late May.
The Unification Ministry on Wednesday cited a list of recent events including an Incheon delegation's visit to North Korea and the joint festival in Pyongyang marking the fifth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean summit.
Local civic groups such as Lions Club of Korea and The Korean Sharing Movement and the international NGO Good Neighbors also crossed the inter-Korean border over the same period.
Upcoming exchanges include a commemorative event on the 60th anniversary of liberation from Japan on August 15th, an inter-Korean writing contest and a joint symposium marking the centennial year of the Eulsa Treaty that deprived Korea of its diplomatic power.
Joint events will come bi-weekly between mid-August and September such as the Pyongyang concert of South Korean singer Cho Yong-pil and North Korean athletes and cheering squads attending the 16th Asian Track and Field Championships.
