The government has simplified customs and immigration procedures for South Korean automobiles traveling to North Korea across the inter-Korean border.

As of Monday, new regulations allow for 'one-stop' customs service, saving travelers the hassle of having to acquire permits from both the Unification Ministry and the Korea Customs Service.

In addition, applications for customs clearance can now be processed online, drastically cutting the processing period to one day from the previous seven.
