Buddhists from the two Koreas will hold their first joint service on July 22nd at Shingye Temple on North Korea's Mount Geumgang.

The Jogye Buddhist Order, the largest in South Korea, said Tuesday that the two Koreas will each send 30 Buddhists to the event for an expected attendance of 200.

The two sides will adopt a joint message.

During talks in the North's border city of Gaesung Friday, Jogye said it agreed with the North's Chosun Federation of Buddhists to hold exchanges.

The Venerable Beop-jang, Jogye's executive director of administration, visited Pyongyang last month for a joint celebration marking the fifth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean summit.
