2 Koreas to Link Cables for Video Reunions

The two Koreas will link fiber optic cables on July 18th for video reunions of separated families scheduled for Liberation Day on August 15th.

The Unification Ministry says the cables will connect Munsan, Gyeonggi Province, to the North Korean border city of Gaesong.

South and North Korean technicians held two meetings for a final check and found no glitches.

The reunion will follow a video conference format and each side will prepare devices compatible with each other.

Working-level talks will begin Sunday to decide the size and format of the reunions.
