Online Reunions to Use 12 Studios

The government will set up 12 studios for online video reunions of separated families on August 15th -- seven in Seoul and five in Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan and Chuncheon.

The Unification Ministry on Thursday said the two Koreas have already agreed to use fiber optic cables connecting Seoul and Gaesong for the reunions and set up an adequate number of transmission lines to allow ten separated families to see each other online simultaneously.
The number of reunions will gradually expand after discussions with the North.

The two Koreas will hold a second working-level meeting early next week on technical details for the reunions.
