'Japan Must Review History to Enter UNSC'

North Korea says Japan cannot gain permanent membership in the U.N. Security Council unless it sincerely reflects and examines its history.

The Rodong Shimbun, the official newspaper of the North's Workers' Party, on Thursday accused Japan of giving more money to the United Nations in a secret bid to alleviate widespread anti-Japanese sentiment, and lay the foundation for future invasion of other countries.

The daily also said Japan is doing everything it can to grab a permanent seat on the council.
