Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan will visit North Korea as a special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

The North’s Central Broadcasting Station on Friday reported Tang's planned trip but did not specify his schedule.

Experts say Tang will focus on the resumption of the six-party nuclear talks, adding he is highly likely to meet the North's leader Kim Jong-il.

Known as a North Korea expert, Tang attended the Beijing summit between Hu and Kim in April last year.
