NK to Resume 6-Way Talks by July 25

North Korea has agreed to resume the stalled six-way talks on its nuclear program by July 25th.

The North's Korean Central News Agency on Saturday said Pyongyang and Washington agreed to open the fourth round of the talks by the last week of the month.

The breakthrough came in a Saturday meeting in Beijing between the North's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Gye-kwan and the chief U.S. delegate to the talks, Christopher Hill.

Hill reiterated the U.S. position of recognizing the North as a sovereign state and no intention of invading it. The two sides will also hold bilateral dialogue within the framework of the talks.

The KCNA said the North interpreted the U.S. comments as a retraction of its "outpost of tyranny" remark and decided to return to the six-party talks.
