North Korea has yet to respond to South Korea's proposal last week to hold working-level defense talks.

The two Koreas agreed at last month's ministerial talks to hold the third inter-Korean meeting of generals in Mount Baekdu in the North.

A Seoul official stressed the swift implementation of mutual defense agreements to build military trust.

He said the working-level talks will focus on confirming propaganda removal near the Demilitarized Zone and setting a timetable for the generals' meeting.

In their second meeting of generals in June last year, South and North Korea agreed to halt all propaganda activities along the border.
