The government and the European Union have agreed to include the European Parliament in future legislative consultations on North Korea's nuclear issue.

At a meeting of the Korea-EU Inter-Parliamentary Council in Seoul Friday, the two sides agreed to set up a tripartite consultation body to include the Supreme People's Assembly of the North as part of efforts to resolve the standoff.

They also agreed to push economic cooperation and information sharing, and to exchange views for peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue and other problems on the Korean Peninsula.
