6-Party Talks to Resume July 26

The six-party nuclear disarmament talks will resume on July 26th in Beijing.

The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said the venue for the fourth round of the talks is Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in the Chinese capital.

Deputy Foreign Minister Song Min-soon, the government's chief delegate to the talks, will join counterparts Christopher Hill of the United States, Kim Gye-gwan of North Korea, Wu Dawei of China, Kenichiro Sasae of Japan and Alexander Alexeyev of Russia.

The ministry did not give a closing date, but the parties are considering extending the talks to more than four days and staying flexible to ensure tangible progress.

Ahead of the talks, the government will discuss the "important proposal" with Pyongyang and brief them on Seoul’s agreements with Washington, Tokyo, Beijing and Moscow.
