Some one-hundred South Korean writers have arrived in Pyongyang for an inter-Korean literary forum on promoting the implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration.

The group, including poet Go Eun and novelist Hwang Seok-young, departed for Pyongyang aboard a chartered flight of North Korea’s Air Koryo early Wednesday morning.

The ninety-eight literary figures are scheduled to attend the event's main session in Pyongyang Wednesday and later hold a sunrise ceremony dubbed the 'Dawn of Unification Literature' on Saturday at the crater lake atop Mount Baekdu.

The six-day forum is the first official gathering of writers of the two Koreas in the six decades since the division of the Korean Peninsula.
