40 Separated Families to Hold Video Reunions

Twenty separated families each from the two Koreas will hold online video reunions on August 15th on the occasion of Liberation Day.

The Unification Ministry said Wednesday that the two sides agreed Tuesday to allow 40 families to participate in the event.

South Korean participants will use 12 studios across the nation, including seven in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Ten families from both sides will take part in one session for a total of four sets of reunions, and each family is allowed two hours of video chat.

The two Koreas also agreed to discuss expanding the video reunions at next month's inter-Korean Red Cross meeting.
