Writers from the two Koreas have agreed to form an inter-Korean writers association that will print joint publications.

The agreement was reached on Wednesday, the first day of an inter-Korean literary forum in Pyongyang on promoting the implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration.

Ninety-eight South Korean writers, including poet Go Eun and novelist Hwang Seok-young, arrived in the North Korean capital Wednesday to attend the event, which will include a sunrise ceremony dubbed the 'Dawn of Unification Literature' on Saturday at the crater lake atop Mount Baekdu.

The six-day forum is the first official gathering of writers of the two Koreas in the six decades since the division of the Korean Peninsula.
