Foreign Minister Lee Joung Binn meets with UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy

Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Lee Joung-binn met with visiting Executive Director of the UNICEF or the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund, Carol Bellamy. Lee gave her the Seoul government's pledge to fully commit itself to UNICEF's fund-raising efforts.
Bellamy reportedly asked the Seoul government to increase its share of funding to the UNICEF from last year's 1.3 million U.S. dollars.
She also asked for President Kim Dae-jung's attendance to the UNICEF Special Assembly in September when South Korea will be designated as a chaircountry of the next General Assembly.
