NK Wants Japan Out of 6-Way Talks

North Korea wants Japan out of the six-party nuclear talks, saying Tokyo is partially to blame for the failed negotiations so far.

The official daily Minju Chosun on Saturday carried a signed commentary saying Japan is again trying to stymie the resolution of the nuclear standoff by raising the kidnapping issue at the upcoming talks.

The commentary said the North's recent return to the stalled talks is part of its efforts to secure peace and security not only on the Korean Peninsula, but also in Northeast Asia and the world.

But it said Japan is working in the opposite direction, and that the North is worried over the future of the talks given remarks by Japanese officials.
