South and North Korea will open a working-level meeting on cooperation in maritime affairs Monday in the North’s border city of Gaesong.

During the three-day meeting, the two sides will share views on preventing illegal fishing in Korean waters by vessels from third countries and on joint maritime operations in the West Sea.

Creating a joint fishing farm and exchanging cultivation technology will also be among the topics of discussion.

The meeting on maritime affairs, the first of its kind, was among the agreements reached during the 10th inter-Korean economic cooperation talks earlier this month.
