President Kim meets with visiting UNICEF chief Bellamy

President Kim Dae-jung met with the visiting chief of the UNICEF or the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund, Carol Bellamy Monday.
The president stressed that children issues are closely connected to the future of mankind and promised that the Seoul government would actively support UNICEF's promotion of children's rights and interests.
Kim also expressed his wishes for the successful hosting of the UNICEF special assembly, which will be held at the United Nations headquarters in September. It is the first in 10 years. He said he would assess the improvement in the protection of children's interests and forge an action plan for the future.
