A large-scale rehearsal designed to check the status of overall preparations for the 2002 World Cup will held at Sang Am main stadium beginning May 15th, about a year ahead of the World Cup.

Seoul Metropolitan City authorities announced that the construction process of the main stadium is nearing the last phase of the stage which aims for 90 percent completion by May.

They said with the expected completion of the construction just a year away, they decided to launch an overall scale rehearsal to check preparations, including the transportation and environmental aspects.

The Seoul City also plans to introduce systems aimed at restricting the number of vehicles on the streets to reduce the level of auto emissions.
