A delegation of South Korean Red Cross officials will head to Pyongyang on Monday for a six-day visit.

The South Korean Red Cross said Friday that the delegation will hold a ceremony in the North Korean capital to mark the provision of some three billion won worth of aid to the Pyongyang Red Cross General Hospital, including medical supplies and equipment and two trucks. The aid is in line with an agreement struck in June on inter-Korean Red Cross exchanges and cooperation.

Earlier this week, the South Korean Red Cross sent to the North 60 million won worth of medical equipment and 2.8 billion won worth of medicines donated by 32 South Korean pharmaceutical firms. Two trucks were also delivered to Pyongyang on Friday through the Gyeongeui Railway Line connecting Seoul and Pyongyang.

The 19-member delegation, led by South Korean Red Cross Vice President Lee Sae-woong, comprises prominent figures from medical and phamaceutical sectors.
