Funds to Help NK Kids, Pregnant Women

The government will donate one million dollars through UNICEF to help North Korean children and pregnant women.

An official on Monday said the government will also launch a support program next year for North Korean children and expecting mothers.

South Korea gave 500,000 dollars to the cause in 2003 and one million dollars last year also through UNICEF.

Meanwhile, the official said the government on July 24th completed shipment of 150,000 tons of fertilizer aid to the North.

Pyongyang must submit a written report to Seoul on how the fertilizer was distributed within 20 days of the last shipment, or August 20th.
