Some one-hundred-50 Koreans from abroad are scheduled to attend August 15th Liberation Day festivities in Seoul.

According to the LA-based online Korean news outlet, Minjok Tongshin, the participants include 62 Koreans from Japan, 45 from the United States and the rest from Canada, China, Europe, Japan and Russia.

The annual event alternately hosted by civic organizations in Seoul and Pyongyang will be held from Sunday to Wednesday in Seoul. This year's celebrations are expected to bring together more than seven hundred participants, including around 200 North Koreans.

The joint event has taken place since the inter-Korean summit in 2000 to commemorate Korea's liberation from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule on August 15th, 1945.
