North Korea has blasted Japan's defense white paper this year for calling the North a destabilizing factor in Northeast Asia.

On Thursday, the Rodong Shinmun, the official daily of the North's Workers' Party, said in an editorial that Japanese militarists are trying to concoct a theory of a North Korean military threat.

The editorial also accused Japan of setting the stage for another invasion of Asia.

On the paper's inclusion of the disputed Dokdo islets as Japanese territory, the daily called it a sinister scheme to militarily take the islets by exercising Japan's right to defend.
