Video Reunion Center Opens Friday

A video family reunion center will open in Seoul Friday.

After an opening ceremony, the South Korean Red Cross will test video conferencing equipment by linking Seoul’s reunion center with five video reunion studios located in Daejeon and Busan and other major cities.

South and North Korea will hold reunions of separated families on the August 15th Liberation Day through video link.

The two Koreas linked fiber optic cables connecting Munsan, Gyeonggi Province, with the North Korean border city of Gaesong last month for the event. Forty separated family members - 20 from each side - will be reunited with their long-lost kin via the video link.
