Unification Minister Chung Dong-young has called for the video reunion of separated family members that took place Monday to be held continuously throughout the year.

Chung vowed to continue the video reunions during a meeting with families that held conversations with their North Korean relatives through video link Monday, pointing out that more than 120-thousand separated family members in the South have applied for reunions.

In response, South Korean Red Cross President Han Wan-sang said that Red Cross officials from the two Koreas are highly likely to discuss ways on expanding the video reunions when they meet for discussions at North Korea’s Mt. Geumgang next Tuesday.
