The Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry said Monday that the nation's annual output of greenhouse gas emissions is likely to edge down substantially.

The rate is estimated at an average of 4 percent between 2001 and 2010. Gross domestic product growth for the same period is estimated at 5.2 percent this will be the first time GDP growth has outpaced the expansion of greenhouse emissions.

The ministry will appropriate 610 million dollars to expedite the development of industries with less energy consuming structures and earmark 524 million dollars on a project to cut down on emissions.
