The two Koreas will hold the first round of discussions on inter-Korean cooperation in the agricultural sector at the North’s border city of Gaesong Thursday.

Over the next two days, agriculture officials from the two sides will hold extensive talks on four or five issues, including measures to prevent floods and promote cooperation in livestock cultivation.

According to an official at the Unification Ministry, the South will propose cooperation on projects aimed at enhancing the communist state’s agricultural productivity rather than on providing short-term support.
