Pilot tours to North Korea’s border city of Gaesong will begin Friday, after tour reservations sold out earlier today.

Hyundai Asan, the main operator of the tourism project, said the tour project attracted huge attention, particularly from those displaced from the North during the Korean War.

A total of 1,500 tourists are expected to make a trip to Gaesong, the ancient capital of the Goryeo Dynasty, on three occasions – this Friday and September 2nd and 7th.

The tour costs 195,000 won per person, including two-way transportation costs, lunch, and admission fees.
