North Korea on Wednesday deported a Japanese man who illegally entered the North in May.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency said Masahiro Sekiguchi was sent home under humanitarian grounds and per his request, adding he did not seek political aslyum.

Troubled by family strife, Sekiguchi swam across the Yalu River from China and entered the North on May 25th. Germany also rejected his request for asylum in January.
