1st Round of Inter-Korean Reunions Ends

The eleventh inter-Korean reunions of separated families on Sunday wrapped up their first group session after three days.

A total of 370 people spent a final hour with long-lost kin in the morning at Mount Geumgang Hotel. The South Korean group returned home via the overland Donghae route to Sokcho, Gangwon Province, after having lunch at Haegeumgang Hotel.

On Saturday, separated relatives visited Samilpo, one of eight famous tourist spots in the resort's Gwandong district, and attended a welcoming dinner at Mount Geumgang Hotel.

The Unification Ministry said almost 10,000 families from both sides met lost relatives through the Red Cross program and the fates of more than 23,900 people have been confirmed.
