2nd Round of Inter-Korean Reunions Begin

The second round of the eleventh inter-Korean reunions of separated families began Monday in North Korea's Mount Geumgang.

Some 430 South Koreans met about 100 long-lost kin from the North in a group reunion, with individual reunions to follow Tuesday.

Hong Jae-hee, the oldest South Korean participant in the second group at age 95, met her 71-year-old son Chae Soo-woong from the North.

On Sunday, the first group of 99 South Koreans returned from the North's mountain resort after reuniting with their long lost-kin for the first time in half a century.

The whereabouts of some 23,000 separated relatives from both Koreas have been identified, with 670 of them believed to have exchanged correspondence.
