France's Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Jean-Pierre Andre Kelche has come to Seoul for a three-day visit.
The Office of the Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the French Army General will meet Defense Minister Cho Sung-tae and Unification Minister Park Jae-kyu Monday.
Kelche is also scheduled to tour a battle site in Kyonggi Province, where French soldiers fought North Korean troops during the Korean War, the Tora Observatory and the Joint Security Area in the truce village of Panmunjom.
A JCS spokesman said Gen. Kelche's visit is expected to boost the traditional friendship and cooperation between the Korean and French forces.
South Korea dispatched its first military attache to France in 1955 and France to South Korea in 1959. The two countries have been arranging exchange visits of military officials since then.
