Russia wants S. Korea's participation in gas field dev't

South Korea will be participating in a multi-national project to develop a gas field in central Siberia.

The Governor of Sakhalin said South Korea is expected to join Russia and China in the project to develop a gas field in the Irkusk region and lay gas pipelines.

The Governor has accompanied Russian President Vladimir Putin on his recent visit to South Korea.

The South Korean government is currently conducting a feasibility study for the project.
