North Korean Premier Pak Bong-ju says his country remains committed to peacefully resolving the nuclear standoff through dialogue and negotiation.

The North’s Korean Central Broadcasting Station quoted Pak as saying denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is one of the testaments left by the late founder of the North, Kim Il-sung, as well as Pyongyang's ultimate goal.

He made his comments at a ceremony in Pyongyang Thursday, a day ahead of the 57th anniversary of the North Korean government.

Pak also vowed a resolute struggle to "crush American imperialists' ambition to conquer the world and acts of state terrorism" by joining forces with all peoples of the world championing independence.
