Korea Issues Commemorative Coins for 2002 FIFA World Cup

Seoul unveiled Tuesday commemorative coins to celebrate the 2002 FIFA World Cup which Korea and Japan will co-host.

Hwadong Co., an official sales agent for the Korean World Cup Organizing Committee (KOWOC), held a ceremony in Seoul to mark the release of commemorative coins, attended by Prime Minister Lee Han-dong-dong.

Hwadong said it will accept advanced payments from March 19 to March 31 from those who want to buy the first batch of commemorative coins.
